BALTIC PIONEER HIGHLIGHTS
This incredible classic car touring event will see crews journeying over 1,800km across asphalt and gravel roads lined with spectacular views of deep blue lakes, vast coniferous forests and sparsely populated marshlands. We will cross Finland, Latvia and Estonia on our way towards Vilnius, the magnificent capital of Lithuania.
DAYS 1 & 2
SATURDAY 10TH TO SUNDAY 11TH JULY | HELSINKI TO JYVÄSKYLÄ, FINLAND
After a night in Finland’s capital, Helsinki, we drive north to Jyväskylä along the shores of Lake Päijänne. We cross the Päijänne via the stunning Pulkkilanharju Esker and venture through open countryside, vast forests, and magnificent lakes to the beautiful National parks of Päijänne and Leivonmäki, completing our day by entering Jyväskylä via the engineering marvel that is the Kärkisten Silta Bridge.
DAY 3
MONDAY 12TH JULY | JYVÄSKYLÄ TO TAMPERE
From Jyväskylä, we will head southwest to Häkkiskylä, via the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petäjävesi Old Church, a unique example of traditional Nordic wooden church architecture. From Häkkiskylä we will follow the gravel trails through the forest to our lunch stop in Valkamanperä. Our afternoon session will be a mazy loop around the tree lined shores of lakes, Peräpohja Matehinen and Näsiselkä as we head to our overnight halt in the lakeside city of Tampere.
DAY 4
TUESDAY 13TH JULY | TAMPERE TO TALLINN
Day four will begin with a fantastic drive south towards Helsinki. We will pass through tranquil villages and idyllic farms as we head towards our lunch halt at Katajanokka overlooking the ferry port in Helsinki. We will spend our afternoon crossing the Gulf of Finland via a ferry to our overnight halt in Estonia’s capital, Tallinn.
DAY 5
WEDNESDAY 14TH JULY | TALLINN TO TARTU
Starting from the centre of the well-preserved Baltic port city, we will spend the day exploring the hilly landscapes, forest roads and countless moors of Estonia, including a loop around the northern shores of Lake Võrtsjärv between the Alam-Pedja Reservaat and Tartu, the "intellectual capital city" of Estonia and our stop for the fifth night.
DAY 6
THURSDAY 15TH JULY | TARTU TO RIGA
We head south from Tartu towards Riga, via the stunning Otepää Looduspark nature reserve. Crossing the border into Latvia over the Pedele river at the twin towns of Valga and Valka. From here we will head southeast passing through the varied terrain and picturesque landscapes of Gauja National Park as we head for our overnight halt in Riga.
DAY 7
FRIDAY 16TH JULY | RIGA TO KLAIPĖDA
From Riga, we will head southwest to Lithuania, stopping for lunch in the northern city of Šiauliai, the gateway to the Hill of Crosses, a place of pilgrimage, and a symbol of resistance to Russian rule. Our afternoon route will take us through the heavily forested hills and marshlands of Kurtuvėnų and Varniai National Parks as we pause for day seven in the historic port city of Klaipėda.
DAY 8
SATURDAY 17TH JULY | KLAIPĖDA TO KAUNAS
On day eight the rally will head south, passing through the spectacular Panemunių National Park as we skirt along the banks of the Nemunas river to our overnight stop in the dynamic and vibrant city of Kaunas.
DAY 9
SUNDAY 18TH JULY | KAUNAS TO VILNIUS
Our final day will be filled with breath taking views of Lake Galvė and Trakai Island Castle. We will stop for lunch in Trakai before crossing the Bukčiai Forest and heading for our destination, the baroque city of Vilnius, to finish with a night of cocktails and exquisite local cuisine.
Expect magnificent views, spectacular roads, luxury hotels and amazing culinary surprises. We hope you can join us and experience the thrill of driving like never before.

Any three or four-wheeled vehicles built before December 31st, 1999 are eligible for the challenge.

ON EVENT SUPPORT
Although mechanical support will be available throughout the event, the ability to carry out regular maintenance on your own car is essential. Should you need to be transported by truck we will help as much as we can, but all responsibility, including payment, rests with the competitor. We always have at least one doctor or paramedic on our experienced and friendly event team.
NAVIGATION
The route will be defined in a detailed tulip Road Book and an overview map of the route will also be provided.
TYPES OF ROAD
The Baltic Pioneer will take place predominantly on asphalt roads and rough roads will be avoided wherever possible. However, we do include some longer more challenging gravel sections in the Kurtuvėnų and Varniai National Parks in Lithuania.
HOSPITALITY
Nine nights’ accommodation is included in a shared room (double or twin). Single rooms are available for a supplementary fee but may be limited at some hotels. We aim to provide a mixture of luxury 4 and 5 star accommodation throughout the challenge, taking into account the need for parking and ease of access.
Breakfast, coffee, lunch and dinner are provided throughout the event and any allergies, specific dietary requirements, or religious preferences will be catered for (subject to prior communication).
