Starting our rally from the historic city of Bucharest, we spend our first four days exploring the mountain passes and forest roads of Romania, including a loop around the beautiful Bâlea Lake between Brasov and Cluj Napoca. We will spend a night in TimiÈ™oara, famous for its stunning Secessionist architecture and the mosaic-patterned Metropolitan Orthodox Cathedral before heading West to Bosnia Herzegovina, via the rugged landscapes of Serbia, staying overnight in the historic capital of Sarajevo.
DAYS 6 & 7
THURSDAY 18TH TO FRIDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER | SARAJEVO, SPLIT & RIJEKA
The scenery changes dramatically in day six, as mountain roads and alpine forests make way for the sheltered harbours, sandy beaches, and quiet fishing villages of the Dalmatian coast. Our first overnight halt will be in Split, on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, followed by a day of driving across the moonlike terrain of the Dalmatian archipelago to the gorgeous port city of Rijeka, our stop for day seven.
DAYS 8 & 9
SATURDAY 20TH TO SUNDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER | RIJEKA, LJUBLJANA & GRAZ
On day eight we will experience the spectacular countryside of Slovenia as we journey through the Triglavski National Park and Lake Bled to our overnight stop in Ljubljana. Day nine will see us head North to Austria, via the city of Maribor and across the Central Eastern Alps for our night in Graz.
DAY 10
MONDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER | GRAZ TO BRATISLAVA
From Graz, we will head Northeast to Slovakia, passing through vineyards and the medieval castled ruins of the heavily forested Little Carpathian Mountains, pausing on day ten in the nation’s capital, Bratislava.
DAY 11
TUESDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER | BRATISLAVA TO BUDAPEST
Our final day will see us trace the Danube South from Bratislava, passing through the oak forests and limestone mountains around Tata and the Duna-Ipoly Nemzeti Park to our destination, Budapest the “Queen of the Danube”. We will finish our challenge at lunchtime on the final day, allowing our crews time to enjoy this beautiful city, before we enjoy a wonderful night of cocktails and exquisite Hungarian cuisine.
Expect magnificent views, spectacular roads, luxury hotels and amazing culinary surprises. We hope you can join us and experience the thrill of driving like never before.
